Man pleads guilty after indecent acts in New Westminster

IN February 2021, the New Westminster Police Department issued a warning to residents in the Connaught Heights and West End neighbourhoods about a suspect committing indecent acts.

The NWPD Street Crime Unit and the Vancouver Police Department worked together to further the investigations and a suspect was arrested in March. Charges were approved by crown counsel in May.

In July 2022, Rickie Diguistini plead guilty to two charges of committing an indecent act in a public place as well as a guilty plea for a charge of breach of probation.

“We are pleased with the outcome of this trial,” said Sgt. Justine Thom. “This conclusion was made possible due to witnesses calling 9-1-1 and passing along photographs of the suspect. We also hope this provides some level of resolution to those affected by this individual’s actions.”

The New Westminster Police Department thanked the residents of Connaught Heights and the West End for their assistance in this investigation.
