Man who barricaded himself inside Langley residence apprehended (update)

ON Saturday, September 6, Langley RCMP attended a residence in the 7100-block of 208 Street to conduct a wellness check.

Upon police arrival and brief interaction, the male individual barricaded himself inside the residence. Out of an abundance of caution, the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT) was called to assist.

“The incident has since been safely resolved. One man was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to a local area hospital for assessment and care,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of Langley RCMP. “There is no ongoing risk to the public and all road closures in the area have been lifted.”
