THE BC Prosecution Service (BCPS) announced on Friday that a Motor Vehicle Act (MVA) charge has been approved against Ridge Meadows RCMP Constable Brendan Prasad following an off-duty motor vehicle accident that occurred on October 8, 2022, in Mission.

The matter was investigated by the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of BC that filed a report with the BCPS for consideration of charges.
An information charging Prasad with driving without due care and attention was sworn on October 6. The first appearance on this matter is scheduled for November 16 in Abbotsford Provincial Court.
The charges were approved by an experienced Crown Counsel who has no connection with the officer.
