THE BC Prosecution Service (BCPS) announced on Tuesday that charges have been approved against Langley RCMP Constable Denis Miano Maina, following an incident that occurred in Langley on June 1, 2025.

The incident was investigated by the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) and referred to the BCPS for charge assessment. An Information charging Denis Maina with two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, contrary to section 320.13(2) of the Criminal Code, was sworn on June 1, 2026, in Surrey provincial court.

The first appearance on this matter is scheduled for June 22.
