ON Sunday, August 3 at approximately 8:22 p.m., emergency services responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on westbound Highway 1 between 264th Street and 248th Street, involving a motorcyclist.
Despite the rapid arrival of BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) and Township of Langley Fire crews, and the administration of life-saving measures, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) attended to support the BC Highway Patrol and Langley RCMP in the investigation. As a result, westbound lanes of Highway 1 were closed for several hours while police examined the scene.
“Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the individual who lost their life,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of Langley RCMP.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from the area at the time is asked to contact Langley RCMP.
