DON Davies, NDP candidate for Vancouver Kingsway, and Manoj Bhangu, NDP candidate for Vancouver Fraserview-South Burnaby, hosted the grand opening of their joint campaign office at 1408 East 49th Avenue on Sunday.
The event brought together hundreds of energized supporters, volunteers, and community members.
“This campaign is about building a brighter future for our community and Canada,” said Davies. “Together, we can deliver better public healthcare, affordable housing for all, and a strong, independent and prosperous Canada.”
First elected in 2008, Davies has served in a number of important critic portfolios, including international trade, finance, national security and public safety, immigration, and health.
“People are really struggling to get by, and Trump’s trade war is threatening our workers and economy,” added Davies. “Now, more than ever, our community needs experienced, effective and dedicated representation.”
Bhangu is a small-business owner and an engaged community advocate. He has lived in Vancouver Fraserview-South Burnaby with his family for many years.
As an elected director on the board of Black Top Cabs for six years, Bhangu fought for better representation and improved working conditions. He is also the founder of a driving school focused on road safety.
“Our community thrives when we come together to tackle challenges head-on,” said Bhangu. “By standing united, we can confront the issues that people are going though every day—like the need for affordable housing, good-paying jobs, and safe, vibrant neighborhoods.”

In the last Parliament, Davies said he worked to secure dental care for 9 million Canadians, free coverage of diabetes and contraception medications, and a $1 billion school nutrition program.
He also collaborated with Bhangu to introduce motion M-128 to recognize and prohibit caste-based discrimination in Canada.
“Our campaign is powered by people—by their passion, ideas, and determination.” said Davies. “In the face of tariffs and threats from Trump, we don’t turn on each other—we stand together. Canada is our home, and we’ll defend it with everything we’ve got.”
