One dead, another in critical condition in two pedestrian-involved collisions in Abbotsford

ON Friday, December 22 at 5:07 p.m., Abbotsford Police patrol members responded to the area of Victoria Street and Old Yale Road for a reported collision of a motor vehicle involving a pedestrian. 

Officers located a 77-year-old female with serious, life-threatening injuries. Medical aid was immediately provided, and the female was transported to the hospital where she remains in critical condition. 

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

At 5:13 p.m., officers were alerted to another reported serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that occurred in the 30000-block of Marshall Road Extension. 

Officers located a 40-year-old male with serious, life-threatening injuries. Medical aid was immediately rendered, however, the male succumbed to his injuries. 

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash.  

Road closures in both areas are in effect while members of Abbotsford Police and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (I.C.A.R.S.) investigate.
