Shootings at two Richmond restaurants appear targeted

ON Monday, December 18 and Wednesday, December 20, frontline Richmond RCMP responded to local restaurants for reports of shots being fired.

The first restaurant was located in the 8500-block of Bridgeport Road, while the second was located in the 7900-block of Alderbridge Way.

Both shootings occurred when the restaurants were closing – the first around 10:30 p.m., and the second around 11:30 p.m.

Police said that at this time, these shootings appear targeted and are not connected to the BC Gang conflict.

“The safety of our community remains our paramount priority and the investigations are being actively spearheaded by the Richmond RCMP Major Crime Unit,” said Cpl. Dennis Hwang, Richmond RCMP Media Relations Unit.

He added: “There will be increased police activity in these areas as our investigation unfolds.”
