Male known to police dead, another injured in related stabbings in Surrey (update)

ONE male is dead and another was injured in what are believed to be related stabbings in a targeted attack in Surrey.

The deceased male was known to police, but an Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) spokesperson told the media that his name would not be released at this stage.

Police are looking for a suspect.
On August 6 (Monday), at approximately 4:30 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to the 10800-block of 152nd Street after receiving a report of a male being stabbed. The male was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

A short time later, a second male was dropped at a local hospital suffering from serious injuries. The second male died as a result of his injuries.
The Surrey Serious Crime Unit and IHIT have assumed conduct of the investigations that are believed to be related. Police said this appears to be a targeted attack with no risk to the general public.
