Warrant of arrest issued for Nikhil Sidhu

ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police investigators from Commercial Auto Crime announced on April 26 that they had made an arrest and identified suspects involved in a break-and-enter and auto theft in Brampton in late 2023.

On November 4, 2023, two suspects unlawfully entered a Brampton area business that rents luxury vehicles. While inside, the pair stole several vehicle keys along with two luxury vehicles, a 2022 GMC SUV and a 2022 Rolls Royce worth nearly $750,000.

Following a lengthy and complex investigation, it was determined that the stolen vehicles were exported to foreign markets. Investigators have since identified the two suspects believed to be responsible.

On April 1, Charmeet Matharu, a 29-year-old male from Brampton, was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing for break-and-enter with intent, and two counts of theft of motor vehicle.

A warrant for the arrest of the second suspect, 26-year-old Nikhil Sidhu of Brampton, has been issued for the same offences. Police continue to search for and investigate his whereabouts.

Anyone with information on Sidhu’s whereabouts or this investigation is asked to contact the Commercial Auto Crime Bureau at (905)453-2121 ext. 3313.

Information may also be left anonymously by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or by visiting peelcrimestoppers.ca.
