ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police have charged eight South Asians with firearm-related offences.
On Monday, October 2 at 10:25 p.m., officers attended a residence in the area of Donald Stewart Road and Brisdale Drive in Brampton for a report of shots fired.
With the assistance of the Tactical Unit, eight individuals were extracted from the residence and arrested. No one suffered any injuries, police said.
On Tuesday, October 4, a Criminal Code Search Warrant was executed at the residence and a 9mm Beretta firearm was seized.
All those arrested are from Brampton.
* Rajanpreet Singh, 21, was charged with possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm; and careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.
The seven other men were charged with possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm:
* Jagdeep Singh, 22.
* Ekamjot Randhawa, 19.
* Manjinder Singh, 26.
* Harpreet Singh, 23.
* Ripanjot Singh, 22.
* Japandeep Singh, 22.
* Lovepreet Singh, 26.
They were all held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
