ONTARIO: Suspect arrested in stolen Porsche investigation in Mississauga

ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police investigators have arrested and charged the female suspect involved in a vehicle theft in Mississauga.

On Friday, September 6 at approximately 2 p.m., the suspect attended the victim’s residence near Winston Churchill and Eglinton Avenue in Mississauga in response to an Auto Trader advertisement. The victim was selling his vehicle, a 2022 Porsche Cayenne. While viewing the vehicle, the suspect reversed rapidly, striking and injuring the victim before fleeing with the stolen vehicle.

On September 19, the suspect, 18-year-old Sarah Badshaw of Brampton, turned herself in to police. She was held in custody pending a bail hearing on September 20, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

She has been charged with the following offences:

  • Dangerous operation cause bodily harm
  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Fail to remain after accident resulting in bodily harm
  • Drive no licence – Highway Traffic Act

Sarah has been charged with prior fraud-related offences in Peel and is wanted by other GTA police services for separate investigations.

This investigation remains active and investigators anticipate additional arrests and charges.

Police are encouraging the public to be vigilant when selling items online, and to utilize Peel Regional Police Buy and Sell Exchange Zones located at each Peel Police Division.
