ON Wednesday just after 7 p.m., Langley RCMP received a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 200 Street and Michaud Crescent.
Officers found BC Ambulance Services (BCAS) paramedics on scene communicating with a 14-year-old female from Langley who had been hit by the vehicle. The youth was transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators have determined that the driver of the vehicle was driving north on 200 Street approaching Michaud Crescent, while the pedestrian was seen running east towards Michaud Crescent.
The driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old man from Langley, remained on the scene and cooperated with police. “Speed and any form of impairment are not believed to be contributing factors in this incident, however, the torrential rain may have reduced visibility in the area,” says Cpl. Zynal Sharoom.
Anyone with more information or dash cam footage from the area of 200 Street and Michaud Crescent is asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and quote file 2024-6310.
