Pedestrian-involved collision in New Westminster

ON Thursday at approximately 5:45 a.m., the New Westminster Police Department responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Royal Avenue and 4th Street.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene and transported the male to Royal Columbian Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police. At this time, it does not appear that drugs or alcohol appear to be a factor in this collision, police said.

The NWPD is aware that there may have been witnesses in the area and are wanting to speak with them and are appealing to the public for CCTV and dashcam footage. Anyone with information is asked to call the New Westminster Police at (604) 525-5411.
