ON July 22 at approximately 4:40 p.m., New Westminster Police responded to the area of 9th Street and St. Andrews Street for a report of a possible shooting. When officers arrived, several people were located; however, no one had any obvious injuries.
The New Westminster Police Department Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Section have since taken conduct of the investigation.
“Investigators are speaking with witnesses and other parties who may be involved. Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of this alleged shooting,” stated Sgt. Jeff Scott. “Because we are still in the early stages of the investigation, detectives are working hard to determine what exactly happened.”
