Possible tampering with Halloween candy prompts warning by New Westminster Police

NEW Westminster Police on Thursday were made aware of two separate incidents of Halloween candy that appeared to have been tampered with.

Police said they were again reminding parents and guardians to check all of their Halloween candy and report anything suspicious to the New Westminster Police Department Major Crime Unit.

“It is fortunate that nobody was hurt,” said Staff-Sgt. Jeff Scott. “It is quite shocking to think someone would try to harm children in this way and our investigators are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.”

Anybody who has any further information regarding these incidents should call New Westminster Police Department Major Crime Unit investigators at 604-529-2536.
