PREMIER David Eby on Monday said in a statement: “Today marks the beginning of Hola Mohalla, a three-day festival celebrated by Sikhs in British Columbia and around the world.
“People gather in prayer and song, and enjoy communal meals. Bright and colourful festivities are held in communities around the province, with many featuring performances of Gatka martial arts.
“The Sikh community has a rich legacy of contributing to the building of British Columbia. Just as prayer and service is an integral part of the Sikh faith, so are vibrant and traditional festivals such as the Hola Mohalla showcasing fraternity and valour.
“I wish a joyous festival to all celebrating Hola Mohalla.”
