RIDGE Meadows RCMP have seized stolen firearms, jewelry, personal documents, contraband cigarettes and approximately half a kilogram of illicit drugs in relation to a break-and-enter investigation.
On November 28 at approximately 12:20 p.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP frontline members responded to a report of a break-and-enter that had occurred at a residence in Maple Ridge.
The Street Enforcement Unit (SEU) as well as Integrated Forensic Identification Services (FIS) attended to assist with the investigation. The prompt response and combined efforts of the various units involved allowed for the alleged suspects to be quickly identified by SEU, police said.
On December 11, the SEU with the assistance of the Integrated Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant at a residence in the 22300-block of St. Anne Avenue in Maple Ridge.
During the search, six firearms, along with jewelry, personal documents, contraband cigarettes and approximately half a kilogram of illicit drugs were located and seized.
Five individuals were arrested and the investigation is ongoing.
“This is a great example of how immediate action has achieved positive results in the recovery of a substantial amount of stolen property. It is always a win, when our efforts allow us to return property to its rightful owner,” said Sgt. Trevor Hanson with the Street Enforcement Unit.
This is an active investigation and no further information is available at this time, police said.
