Roman Arinder Gill and Shaun Narinder Gill charged in Friday’s shooting in Surrey’s Guildford

SURREY RCMP announced on Monday that Roman Arinder Gill and Shaun Narinder Gill, have been charged after shots were fired in Guildford on the afternoon of Friday, December 29.

Both men are known to police and this incident is believed to be linked to the BC Gang Conflict.

At approximately 2:15 p.m. on December 29, frontline officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 101 Avenue and 156 Street. Two male suspects fled the area in a blue Range Rover.

While officers were attempting to stop the vehicle, one of the suspects allegedly pointed a firearm at a police officer.

With assistance from Surrey Traffic Services, Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Services, Air 1 and Langley RCMP, the two suspects were arrested in the area of 198 Street and 57 Avenue in Langley.

Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit took conduct of the investigation and on December 30:

* Roman Arinder Gill, 24, was charged with discharge firearm, assault police officer with a weapon, and unlawful possession of a firearm

* Shaun Narinder Gill, 28, was charged with flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Both men have been remanded and as this matter is now before the courts, there will be no further details provided, police said.
