Serious pedestrian-involved collision in Burnaby

BURNABY RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team is investigating a single-vehicle collision that resulted in life-threating injuries to a 54-year-old male pedestrian.

On Friday, December 16 at 9:50 p.m., Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to a serious collision involving a single vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of Patterson Avenue and Central Boulevard.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police. Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors.

The pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious life-altering injuries.

“Our investigators want to speak to anyone that witnessed this collision or has dash-cam video of the incident,” said Cpl. Mike Kalanj. “Please call Burnaby RCMP if you have any information.”
