Two dead in Langley shooting on Friday morning / Update: IHIT says Langley and Chilliwack murders not linked to other violence

TWO people are dead in an early morning shooting in Langley in the area of 232nd Street and 64th Avenue.

On September 1, just after 5:30 a.m., Langley RCMP were called to the area after a report of shots fired was received. Police found an adult male and a female suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite all attempts to revive the individuals, they succumbed to their injuries.

Police believe that the shooting was targeted.

CTV reported that a jeep with a smashed windshield and both doors open was behind the roped off area.

The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with Langley RCMP.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase.
