WE live in a bustling urban world. Though we are constantly surrounded, it feels as if we are drifting further apart from each other. In order to help forge new connections and bring together the community, the Downtown Surrey BIA has decided to host an exciting new event The Long, Long Table.
The Long, Long Table is a unique event that aims to bring people of all backgrounds and walks of life to come out and share a meal together. Held at City Hall Plaza on Tuesday, September 9, The Long, Long Table event invites 500 people who work, live, and learn in Downtown Surrey for dinner. This encourages interaction that would not otherwise occur, enabling opportunities for friendship and networking within the community.
The event will begin with a networking portion from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at City Hall, with everyone seated for dinner at 5:45 p.m. The dinner will be held in the new City Hall Plaza, which will be elegantly decorated. Participants will be able to enjoy a delicious 5-course meal together. From steaming samosas to refreshing blueberry pie, each of the five courses is inspired by different countries from around the world. In addition, while guests feast, background music from different cultures will be featured.
To be a part of this unique experience is easy. Tickets are available online at SurreyLLT.Eventbrite.com. They can also be purchased at the Downtown Surrey BIA office located at Suite 330-10362 King George Boulevard. Tickets are available for $35 plus GST. Also, as a special offer, students at Simon Fraser can purchase their tickets for only $25 plus GST.
On September 9, escape the fast-paced nature of urban life and rediscover the beauty of connecting with your community through sharing a great meal at Surrey’s Long Table.
