Thousands cross border to watch Blue Jays

It’s not just clothes, milk and gas people from BC are buying when they head into Washington State these days; you can now add baseball tickets to the list.

Thousands of Canadians have spent the last few days in Seattle to watch the Toronto Blue Jays play the Mariners and bars and restaurants around Safeco Field are making a fortune off of their visit.

The Blue Jays only make one trip to Seattle this year; a three game series that opened Monday night and wrapped up Wednesday afternoon.

Jays fans don’t seem to mind that Toronto is in last place in their division and trail the Boston Red Sox by 15 games in the American League East.

Toronto fans have good reason to be friendly this week.

The Jays downed Seattle 3-1 Monday night and followed that win with an even better performance Tuesday.

The Blue Jays had a 5-0 lead when they chased Mariners’ ace Felix Hernandez from the game in the fifth inning.
Toronto went on to win 7-2.
