A record crowd of about 15,000 enjoyed an exciting kabaddi tournament that was organized by the Sikh Youth Sports Committee members Raghbir Singh Nijjar, Ranbir Singh Nijjar, Harnek Singh Aujla, Udham Singh Hundal and others.
The organizers appreciated the tremendous support they garnered from Surrey Mayor Doug McCallum and Surrey Councillors Mandeep Nagra, Allison Patton, Laurie Guerra and Doug Elford as well as the rest of the Safe Surrey Coalition team. They also thanked the City’s Parks and By-law Department.
The crowds were regaled by kabaddi, wrestling, weightlifting, volleyball and family sports. They also enjoyed generous ‘seva’ by Guru Nanak Surrey Gurdwara (GNSG) that served langar and snacks with tea and water.
