Two houses shot at in Surrey

SURREY RCMP are seeking information following two shootings overnight and requesting anyone with CCTV or dash camera video from the areas to contact police.

On Tuesday, August 9, just after midnight, Surrey RCMP received a report of shots heard and a vehicle speeding away in the 14800-block of 76A Avenue.  Officers attended the area, conducted patrols and located a residence with bullet holes.

Approximately 20 minutes after the initial report of shots fired, police received a second report of a shooting in the 9200-block of 163 Street. Similar to the first incident, responding officers located a residence with damage and evidence consistent with a shooting.

Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit has conduct of both cases and investigators are exploring the possibility that these two shootings could be linked.

“Although no one was injured as a result of these shootings, incidents of this nature place members of our community at risk,” said Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer, Cpl. Vanessa Munn. “We urge anyone with information to reach out to police.”

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca.
