TWO men have pleaded guilty to several offences following a fatal motor vehicle collision in January and the subsequent investigation by the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT).
On January 27 at approximately 1:43 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian hit-and-run on University Drive near 104 Avenue. Officers located the suspect vehicle, as well as the pedestrian, several blocks away. The pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene.
After a thorough investigation led by the RCMP SPOSU’s CCIT, two of the men who were arrested on January 27 have now pleaded guilty.
On January 6, Gaganpreet Singh pleaded guilty to dangerous operation of a conveyance; fail to stop after accident with a person; and interference with a dead body.
On February 7, Jagdeep Singh pleaded guilty to the same offences.
Both accused are out of custody and are awaiting their sentencing hearing scheduled for May.
