THE Correctional Service Canada (CSC) announced on Tuesday that a number of unauthorized items and contraband were found during an exceptional search at Matsqui Institution in Abbotsford which had been placed on a lockdown that ended on November 10. The institution has resumed its normal operations.

The CSC said that it is strengthening measures to prevent the entry of contraband into its institutions in order to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone. It added that it also works in partnership with the police to take action against those who attempt to have contraband brought into correctional institutions.
