THE Vancouver Police Department is asking for witnesses and anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward after a 45-year-old Vancouver man sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a targeted shooting on Saturday evening.
Just after 5 p.m. on December 17, the VPD received a report of shots fired in the area of East 53rd Avenue and Prince Edward Street. Officers located the victim suffering from gunshot wounds and he was rushed to hospital.
Detectives from the Major Crime Section are looking for dash-cam footage from anyone who may have been driving in the area between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. on December 17. Specifically, police are looking for footage from anyone driving in this area: East 49th Avenue along the north, East 57th Avenue at the south, Fraser Street to the east, and Main Street at the west.
“Based on the information collected so far, detectives believe this shooting was targeted,” said Constable Jason Doucette. “We have officers in the area today looking for additional evidence. If you know something, or have video footage and have not yet spoken with police, please call or approach one of our officers.”
No arrests have been made.
