Volleyball coach arrested by North Vancouver RCMP for alleged sexual assault

NORTH Vancouver announced on Thursday that they have arrested a man in relation to an ongoing sexual assault investigation and are requesting anyone with information to contact police.

On December 22, 2024, North Vancouver RCMP received a report that a youth had allegedly been sexually assaulted by a volleyball coach. On April 3, 2025, as a result of police investigation, a 50-year-old North Shore man was arrested by police.

The man has since been released with a number of conditions for court at a later date, pending further investigation and charge approval.

“This is an ongoing, complex investigation involving allegations of sexual assaults that occurred over a period of several years,” said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for North Vancouver RCMP. “The top priority for investigators is to speak with anyone with information that has not yet come forward, to gather all available evidence and to support those impacted throughout this process.”
