Volunteers sweep Victoria Drive to keep Vancouver spectacular

Victoria DriveHELD on June 8, volunteers from the Christ Church Miracle Ministries, Vancouver Chinese Baptist Church, and the Board of Directors from the Victoria Drive BIA were joined by Justice Minister and Attorney General Suzanne Anton (MLA for Vancouver-Fraserview), Vancouver South MP Wai Young, Vancouver Councillor George Affleck and Vancouver School Board Trustees Ken Denike and Sophia Woo. Dozens of garbage bags were filled with litter for proper disposal and recycling.

Certificates of appreciation were later presented at a volunteer appreciation luncheon to representatives from the Christ Church Ministries and the Vancouver Chinese Baptist Church by Jagdish Singh, President of the Victoria Drive BIA, Christopher Chung, Vice President, and Wendy Yeh, Director. Wai Young commended the Victoria Drive BIA for its efforts with a special certificate of appreciation.

Victoria DriveBy helping to clean up garbage, remove graffiti, and prevent dumping, the Victoria Drive BIA also helps its neighbourhoods and business districts remain vibrant and thriving.

Jagdish Singh said: “This clean-up has been successfully held year after year, with increasing numbers of volunteers recognizing the gem that is Victoria Drive. I truly appreciate all of the efforts to keep Victoria Drive a unique experience for people to live, work, dine, and shop in.”
