Voting opens for AI Chatbot Naming Contest

IT’S time for the public to choose the perfect name for Delta’s new virtual assistant.

After an enthusiastic response from the community during the first phase of the AI Chatbot Naming Contest, the City of Delta on Monday announced the opening of voting on a shortlist of names submitted by residents.

Voting will remain open until Friday, May 31 and the public is encouraged to visit delta.ca/Chatbot to have their say.

The selected shortlist reflects Delta’s unique identity and the features of the new virtual assistant. Residents have the option to vote for their favourite of the following three popular names:

  • Annie – a nod to the Annieville neighbourhood
  • Burns Bot – a reference to Burns Bog
  • Scout – an excellent finder

The City thanked everyone who contributed their imaginative suggestions. The creativity and participation of Delta residents has been instrumental to this process, making it a true community-driven initiative, it said.

The new virtual assistant has been designed to enhance the user experience on the City of Delta’s website by streamlining navigation and improving accessibility. Residents can explore the virtual assistant and its features by clicking on the “Ask Me!” button in the bottom right corner of delta.ca.
