44-year-old man shot in Surrey’s Whalley

ON Wednesday at approximately 2:20 a.m., Surrey RCMP received multiple 911 calls that a man had been shot near a convenience store in the 13100-block of 104 Avenue in Whalley.

Police located a 44-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit has taken conduct of the investigation. Based on initial information, it appears there was an altercation between parties believed to be known to each other that escalated and resulted in one man being shot.

The investigation is still in the early stages and officers are working to collect evidence and identify possible suspects.
