RIDGE Meadows RCMP on Monday arrested a man with a knife after locating him at Volker Park.
At around 8:40 a.m., police received a call about a man with a weapon in the 122 Avenue and 216 Street area.
Due to the nature of the call, and the fact there was a school nearby, a large number of police officers responded. Subsequently a man holding a knife was found sitting on a bench in Volker Park. He was arrested without incident.
Out of an abundance of caution, School District 42 enacted a hold and secure which lasted approximately 30 minutes.
This incident is isolated to a house in the area and police said no further details would be released.
