Navdeep Dhaliwal’s missing investigation transitions to IHIT

SURREY Police Service (SPS) is transitioning a missing person’s investigation to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) because of evidence indicating that the individual’s disappearance is suspicious in nature.

On April 30 at approximately 10:45 p.m., SPS responded to a missing person report.  Navdeep Dhaliwal, a 25-year-old man, was last seen by associates the previous day. He maintained regular contact with friends and family and, therefore, even this seemingly brief period without contact was highly unusual.

SPS Serious Crime Unit assumed responsibility for this investigation and because of evidence gathered, there are indications that Dhaliwal’s disappearance is suspicious. For this reason, IHIT will be taking conduct of the continuing investigation.

SPS said that it will not provide any further information at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation can call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
