LANGLEY RCMP are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, June 12.
At approximately 12:41 a.m., police responded to a report of shots being fired in the 21500-block of 46A Avenue in Langley. Frontline officers attended the area promptly and secured the scene. Upon examination, officers located evidence consistent with shots having been fired at a residence in the neighbourhood.
“Fortunately, no individuals were injured as a result of this incident; however, property damage was reported,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of Langley RCMP. “Investigators have since been working to gather evidence, canvass the area for witnesses, and review any available surveillance footage to further the investigation. Investigators are working to determine whether this incident is linked to extortion activities or the ongoing gang conflict in British Columbia, though there is currently no confirmation of any such connection.”
Langley RCMP are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, or who may have dash camera or CCTV footage from the surrounding neighbourhood between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m., to come forward. Even seemingly minor details may assist investigators in advancing the file.
