CANADA Border Services Agency air cargo officers at Vancouver International Airport on February 18 intercepted a shipment from India bound for Surrey. Upon examination of the shipment, officers found two large tin cans labelled as hair removing wax.

Inside the cans were plastic bags containing a pliable solid that chemical analysis identified as opium. In total, 1.664 kilograms of opium were seized.

The CBSA said the estimated street value of the shipment is $99,840.
