COQUITLAM RCMP say they are searching for the rightful owners of a large amount of cash that was found in IKEA located at 1000 Lougheed Highway, Coquitlam, on September 11.

The cash was turned in to police recently after it was located by a store employee. The cash is believed to have been dropped sometime in early September.

“The finder demonstrated genuine integrity by turning the money over to the police in the hopes that it could be returned to its rightful owners,” said Media Relations Officer Cpl. Alexa Hodgins. “Coquitlam RCMP would like to remind the public to report lost large sums of money to the police to increase the chances of having the money returned.”

To claim the cash, contact Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2022-29400. Claimants will be required to provide the denominations of the cash and how it was stored to prove ownership.
