South Asian Seniors: Filing Income Tax Returns Free

 

Vedic Seniors Parivar Centre of Vedic Hindu Cultural Society Surrey informs South Asian seniors that during the tax filing period they can help you to file your income tax returns for the year 2016 free of cost through the community volunteer program of Canada Revenue Agency from now to May 2 – if you are living in Surrey / Delta. The eligibility criteria are as follows: 1. Single individual with annual income limit up to $ 30,000. 2. Couples with annual income up to $ 40,000. 3. Adult with one child annual income up to $ 35,000, add the income limit by $ 2,500 for each dependent child. Interest income not over $ 1,000 and this income will be included as total eligibility. With no investment income, no rental income, no business or partnership income and no capital gain or loss. SIN card and photo ID will be required for proof. Merchants of Marine Drive would like to invite you and your family to the Waterfront for a day of fun on Saturday, April 1, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. White Rock BIA will give the first 500 people, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., a Loonie back on their parking. Just bring your ticket stub to the Tourism Booth to redeem your dollar back. * White Rock Museum will be hosting Historical Marine Drive Walking Tours as 12. 1 and 2 p.m. Meet on the Promenade at Elm Street to join in. * Take the kids on a free train ride from West Beach to East Beach running between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. * East Beach will have a free Bounce House for the kids (weather permitting) * The Drive will be alive with music with DJ’s spinning your favourite songs. * An “All Day Hiring Fair” will take place as many merchants are looking for additional staff as the summer season comes. Saturday, April 1: Tsawwassen Mills will host Red FM to celebrate their annual Vaisakhi promotion where shoppers are invited to enter for their chance to win a car and enjoy live Bhangra folk dancing. * Red FM Car Giveaway Promotion: 1-5 p.m. at Promo Court, inside Entry 3, Tsawwassen Mills. Shoppers are invited to enter for their chance to win a 2017 Toyota Corolla. One finalist will be selected from the ballots. South Asian Seniors: Bingo

 

Vedic Seniors Parivar Center of Vedic Hindu Cultural Society Surrey invites South Asian adults / senior members as well as non-members to come and play Bingo for fun and make some new friends on Sunday, April 2, 2-3:30 p.m., at Shanti Niketan Hall of Lakshmi Narayan Hindu Temple at 8321 140th Street, Surrey. Bring only two dollars with you to play two games. If you do not know how to play, members will explain the game. Tea and snacks will be served. Fourth Annual Blood Drive And Swab Clinic

 

Surrey resident Jas Sanghera’s uncle, Nirmal Sohal, lost a tough battle in December 2013 against a rare form of leukemia. Nirmal received numerous units of blood to try to save his life. Cancer patients often require blood products as part of their treatment. Soon after witnessing his long struggle, Jas and other members of Nirmal’s family organized a blood drive in Surrey. This year will mark the fourth annual event to encourage eligible donors to give the gift of life by donating blood and registering as potential stem cell donors. On Sunday, April 2 at 11 a.m. (clinic runs 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) at Surrey Blood Donor Clinic, Unit C2 #15285-101st Avenue.
