Fashion show reveals some of Canada’s largest collection of historic Asian styles and garments

Richmond, BC – Don’t miss this opportunity to see acclaimed local fashion historian Ivan Sayers host From the Silk Road: Asia in Fashion, Fashion in Asia – a unique historical fashion show being held at the Richmond Arts Centre Performance Hall on Thursday, November 6 at 6:30 p.m.

The fashion show kicks-off opening celebrations for Richmond Museum’s upcoming exhibit, Interwoven World: Identity and Fashion, running from November 6, 2014 to July 5, 2015. The exhibit explores how fashion has evolved through time, showcasing cross-cultural influences on styles from around the globe and how they are relevant to Richmond today.

Presenting exceptional historic Asian styles and garments from his private collection, the largest in Canada, Sayers will be sure to pique a variety of interests.

The Performance Hall is located at the Richmond Arts Centre, 7700 Minoru Gate (adjacent to the Museum). Advance tickets are $30; tickets at the door are $35. Members of the Richmond Museum Society and the Chinese Canadian Historical Society will receive a 10 per cent discount. Event doors open at 6 p.m.
