THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) on Saturday said that the two victims found deceased in a Richmond residence on Friday were father and son.

On November 30 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Richmond RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance at a residence in the 6200-block of Goldsmith Drive. Officers located the bodies of a 46-year-old man and a 13-year old boy inside the residence.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken conduct of the investigation and continues to work closely in partnership with the Richmond RCMP, the RCMP Forensic Identification Service and the BC Coroners Service.

The two victims were father and son and both resided in the home. Although, the investigation is in very early stages, the initial evidence suggests that this was a targeted incident and the investigators are still working to determine a motive.

This incident occurred at a residence situated in the area of the Rocky View Playground and the London Sports Fields.

“We are asking anyone who may have observed anything suspicious in the area of the Rocky View Playground or the adjoining pathways between 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on November 30 to contact IHIT,” said IHIT Sgt. Timothy Pierotti. “Also, if you were driving or parked in the area and have dash-camera footage, please contact IHIT immediately.”

IHIT is asking anyone with information regarding the investigation, to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
