IN the game of basketball with two equally matched team, it’s anybody’s game with leads changing often throughout the game. The lead by any team was never more than 6 points at any time. The Junior Boys Basketball Provincial Invitational Tournament game at the Langley Event Center on Tuesday was a duel of two great teams.
The Panthers had control of the most game but in the last four minutes, the Panthers never seemed quite the same; they seemed to fall apart. Missing shots, not getting layups in, and causing turnover after turnover.
The Saints held the Panthers pointless for those four minutes of the game. With a strong offensive last-minute effort Vancouver’s #5 seeded St. George’s Saints upset Surrey’s #3 seeded Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers, for a 54-46 win for its first BC Junior Boys Basketball Championship since winning the big game way back in 2005.
