INDIAN Consul General Manish signed a Memorandum of Understanding with University of Calgary on behalf of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) to set up a Chair of Indian Studies at the Faculty of Arts.

Dr. William Ghali, Vice President (Research), signed the MoU on behalf of the University of Calgary. The University of Calgary is the fourth university in Canada to have an India Chair. The establishment of the ICCR Chair of Indian Studies will further deepen educational cooperation and academic exchanges between India and Canada.

Prasad Panda, Minister of Transport of Alberta, Dr. Janaka Ruwanpura, Vice Provost and Associate Vice President International of the University of Calgary, Andrea Morrow, Director International Relations of the University of Calgary, and Indian community leaders attended the MoU signing ceremony.
