VANCOUVER Police Deputy Chief Howard Chow tweeted on Wednesday: “Man calls police to report he was robbed by 3 suspects who had an axe and bear spray.”

He added: “During our investigation, we quickly learned that our would-be victim stole these same items from someone else earlier.”
