A man found guilty of killing a fellow Indian outside a gurdwara in California has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for 35 years on August 9, 2013.
Gurpreet Singh Gosal, 28, was sentenced for the second degree murder of 26-year-old Parmjit Singh Pamma outside the Bradshaw gurdwara in Sacramento during a Sikh sports festival on August 31, 2008.
Gosal was convicted by the jurors of Sacramento Superior Court. He apologised to the victim’s family through his attorney on hearing the sentence, .
The shooting was the result of an argument between Amandeep Dhami and Gosal, with Pamma detectives said. Witnesses held Gosal until sheriff’s deputies arrested him and Amandep ran from the temple to escape. Amandeep with the help of his family, went to Punjab India. Amandeep is wanted for murder. detectives said.
