FORMER Deputy Premier Kevin Falcon, currently an executive VP of Anthem Capital Corp., is reportedly going to announce his bid for the BC Liberal leadership on Monday.
Falcon ran for the leadership of the party in 2011, but lost to Christy Clark. He was MLA for Surrey-Cloverdale from 2001 to 2013. He served as the deputy premier and minister of finance.
However, there is reportedly a lot of opposition within the BC Liberal Party to Falcon’s candidacy because they feel he has a lot of baggage and the party could get mired in controversies.
On the other hand, others feel that Falcon is the only one who could lead the party at this stage and they point out that the NDP has been attacking him for some time now because they apparently fear his comeback.
