Khun-Khun charged in gangster Jonathan Bacon’s murder

khun khunThree men accused of killing gangster Jonathan Bacon in a brazen daytime shooting outside a Kelowna hotel made a brief court appearance.

Jason McBride, Jujhar Khun-Khun and Michael Jones appeared via video link from Vancouver on Monday, but their case has been put over until Nov. 4.

A change of counsel has meant another delay related to the incident in August 2011, when a woman inside an SUV with Bacon was also shot and paralyzed.

McBride, Khun-Khun and Jones are charged with the first-degree murder of Bacon, the eldest of three brothers alleged to be at the centre of a gang war in the Vancouver area in 2008 and 2009.

Jamie Bacon is facing trial for conspiracy to commit murder in relation to a case known as the “Surrey Six” murders in October 2007, when six people, including two innocent bystanders, were found dead in an apartment building.

The Bacons’ middle brother, Jarrod Bacon, is serving a 12-year sentence on drug trafficking charges.
