‘Mad Indian gambler’ in UK found guilty of murdering escort

Conman Rakesh Bhayani a.k.a ‘mad Indian gambler’ has been reportedly found guilty of murdering an escort and former lover to pay off his gambling losses and save his marriage.

Bhayani, 41, killed Carole Waugh, 49, in her expensive London flat in April last year, and had planned to sell her home, use up her bank deposits and shares to pay off the losses he suffered because of gambling.

According to the Independent, Waugh’s body was stuffed into a holdall, dumped in the boot of a car and left in a south London lock-up after Bhayani recruited Nicholas Kutner, 48, a career conman, to join his plot.

The pair of conmen finally turned on each other and accused each other of killing Waugh.

The report said that Bhayani was sentenced life in prison over charges of murder while Kutner, was cleared of murder but found guilty of perverting the course of justice over the disposal of Waugh’s body.

Bhayani and Waugh had met online and after the conman was successful at making her believe he was ‘one of the good guys’, she started lending him large sums and supported him even when he was sent to prison over earlier frauds.

However, when she demanded her loans back and threatened to expose his double life to his family, Bhayani murdered her.

The report said that Bhayani had a long history of scams dating back 20 years and claimed that he started gambling from the age of eight, using slot machines at fairgrounds.
