AN emergency alert sent to cellphones on Monday morning has warned of multiple shooting scenes involving transients in the downtown core in the City of Langley with one incident in Langley Township.

The suspect is described as white, dark hair wearing brown Carhart coveralls and a blue and green camo T-shirt with a red logo on the right sleeve. He is associated to a white car.

“Police have interaction with 1 suspect. Unknown if others involved at this time,” read the alert.

At 7:23 a.m., police announced that the suspect they had interacted with was “no longer a threat.”

“Efforts still being made to confirm only one suspect is involved. Please remain alert and out of the area,” police added.

Police have asked people to remain alert and keep out of the area.
