New Westminster Police looking for driver involved in hit-and-run collision

NEW Westminster Police are seeking public assistance as investigators work to locate the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run collision on Tuesday night that sent a woman to hospital with injuries.

On March 25 at approximately 11:20 p.m., New Westminster Police responded to Boyd Street and Gifford Street for a report of hit-and-run collision. Officers located an injured adult female driver. The vehicle that struck her was found parked further down Boyd Street near Boundary Road. The driver of that vehicle had fled the scene.

The woman was transported to a hospital, while officers canvassed for witnesses and surveyed the scene for additional evidence.

“The driver was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Our officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision and are interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed the event,” said Media Relations Officer Sgt. Andrew Leaver. “At this point, we believe the suspect vehicle is a 2001 grey Toyota Takoma.”

If you have information about this collision, you are requested to call New Westminster Police at 604-525-5411.
