One dead, one seriously injured in two-vehicle collision in Surrey (update)

SURREY Police Service and Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) are investigating a two-vehicle collision that has resulted in one fatality.

At approximately 7 a.m. on March 6, Surrey Police Service received reports of a two-vehicle collision in the area of 144 Street and Highway 10 / 56 Avenue. SPS frontline officers attended and despite life-saving medical intervention by Surrey Fire Service and BCEHS, an occupant one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at scene. One seriously injured occupant was transported to hospital.

ICARS was called in to assist and the cause of the collision remains under investigation, but at this early stage the primary contributing factor is unknown.

Highway 10 / 56 Avenue is currently closed westbound from 148 street and 144 Street is closed southbound at 57 Avenue.
